Embassy of France in the Philippines Offers Scholarship to Qualified Filipinos: Application is now Open


The Philippine embassy of France announces that they are now accepting applications for scholarships for the 2021 academic year. They are offering two scholarships: the PhilFrance and the Philfrance-DOST scholarship. It is ongoing, started from January 11 and ends on  March 15,2021, at 12 midday for both.

PHILFRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

The PhilFrance scholarship program is being held every year since it was launched in 2016. This scholarship is being awarded to those Filipinos who are having strong academic, leadership and professional abilities and are interested to have a Master's degree in France, their website says.

You must be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines at the time of application to be eligible for this as well as you need to be a graduate or a graduating student of a higher education institution in the Philippines.

Filipino recipients for this scholarship are entitled to the following benefits: tuition subsidy, one round trip ticket from Manila to France, exemption from visa application fees, monthly living allowance covering the duration of their studies, healthcare package and priority access to public students accommodation.

PHILFRANCE-DOST SCHOLARSHIP

Meanwhile, the PhilFrance DOST scholarship is aimed at Filipino professionals in the field of academic, research and government institutions interested in pursuing their master's or doctorate degree in French public higher education institutions.

This scholarship has more eligibility criteria than the PhilFrance scholarship which includes being a Filipino citizen, not being more than 50 years old at the time of application, in good health condition, hold a higher education diploma, can pass the admission requirements for graduate studies and can pass the interview and other screening procedures.

The recipients of this scholarship will receive a monthly living allowance depending on the place where they will study, one-time free round trip economy fare from residence to place of study, relocation allowance and pre-travel expenses. While some selected candidates can receive the status of being a French government scholar which entitles them to exemption from public university registration fees, a healthcare package, priority access to public student housing facilities, and exemption from French long-stay visa applications.

Upon completion of the degree or program, the scholars are obliged to immediately return to the Philippines to physically render service to this sending institution on a full-time basis equivalent to or twice the length of time of the masteral or doctorate scholarship.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified by email not later than 4-6 weeks after the deadline of application which is March 15, 2021, 12 noon. If you haven't received any email, it means that you were not selected.
